In Loving Memory of Anita May Ettle.
Anita May Ettle, a beloved sister, aunt, great-aunt, Godmother, faithful servant, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2026, at the age of 79.
Anita was born on October 21, 1946, in Huntington, New York, to Anita and Kenneth Hargrave. Throughout her life, Anita wore many hats and worked diligently in a variety of occupations, including as a tool and dye maker, Certified Nursing Assistant, telephone operator, and cashier. No matter the role, she brought her strong work ethic, kindness, and caring spirit to everything she did.
Anita’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was a faithful servant to God and was a devoted member of International City of God Church in Warner Robins, Georgia, where she faithfully attended and found comfort, fellowship, and purpose.
If faith was Anita’s first love, her family was undoubtedly her second. She treasured every moment spent with those she loved and never missed an opportunity to attend a special event, celebration, or activity. Her presence was a gift, and her love for her family was evident in the countless ways she showed up for them. She created memories that will be treasured for generations to come.
Anita found joy in the simple things in life. She enjoyed ceramics, reading, crossword puzzles, collecting angels, and taking her daily walks. She also had a lifelong love for animals and was always drawn to their gentle companionship. Her curiosity, determination, and appreciation for life’s little pleasures were just a few of the qualities that made her so special.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents, Anita & Kenneth as well as her older brother, Kip Hargrave.
She leaves behind her beloved baby sister, Jeryl Brechtel (Harry) of Byron, Georgia; nephew, Shawn Brechtel (Jen) of Boscawen, New Hampshire; niece, Michelle Sluka (Tyler) of Byron, Georgia; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Morgan, Erin, Colin, Madeline, Olivia, and Clara. She also leaves behind many special friends who were blessed to know and love her.
Anita’s life was one of faith, family, perseverance, and love. Though her absence will leave a space that can never be filled, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. The love she gave, the laughter she shared, and the memories she created will remain forever.
A service celebrating Anita’s life will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the International City Church of God located at 257 Gunn Road, Warner Robins, Georgia. Family asks that bright colored clothing be worn to honor Anita’s bright and joyful spirit.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to International City Church of God in Anita’s memory.
“Her faith was her foundation, her family was her joy, and her love will remain her legacy.”
